OLE DB - ADO

OLE DB is Microsoft's strategic low-level interface specification designed to build on the success of ODBC by providing a Microsoft standard API for accessing all types of data.

ADO is Microsoft's strategic, high-level interface to various data sources. ADO provides consistent access to your data transparently across both transactional and relational access methods for any development, ranging from front-end database client to middle-tier business object using an application, tool, language, or even an Internet browser. ADO is the single data interface you need to know for development of 1- to n-tier client/server solutions and Web-based data-driven solutions.

Note: The OLE DB for V8 FTF download contains all fixes made to the Pervasive.SQL OLE DB provider since its release for Pervasive.SQL V8 SP2 (8.6). The OLE DB for V8 FTF also ensures compatibility with Pervasive PSQL v9. Pervasive recommends that all users of Pervasive.SQL V8 SP2 install this patch. Users of PSQL v9 should use OLE DB 9.1 for PSQL v9.
