About the Btrieve API

The Btrieve API for Pervasive PSQL SDK consists of interfaces for supported programming languages (header files), samples, and documentation that enable you to develop transactional applications for the Pervasive PSQL engine.

System Requirements

• Existing install of Pervasive PSQL v9 engine
• To get support for all the data types and supported file versions, the Pervasive PSQL v9 SP2 (9.5) engine must be installed.

Getting Started

Installation

There is no separate install for the Btrieve interface. The Btrieve runtime binaries listed under the Components List are installed by the PSQL engine installation. PSQL v9 SP2 Btrieve SDK is available for download at: http://www.pervasive.com/developerzone/access_methods/btrieve.asp.

To install, unpack the zip file to a directory of your choosing. For example, create a directory called SDK under your Pervasive PSQL installation (c:\pvsw\sdk\)

The following components are included. The directory locations assume you installed the SDK to c:\pvsw\sdk.
