DDF Builder 4.5 is currently supported on Windows platforms only.

Requirements

DDF Builder requires the following for installation:

Before You Install DDF Builder 4.5

If you have a previous version of DDF Builder installed on your machine, you must first uninstall that version of DDF Builder before upgrading to DDF Builder 4.5.

Installing DDF Builder 4.5

To install DDF Builder 4.5

  1. Download DDF Builder from the following location:

    2. http://www.pervasive.com/developerzone/sdk/ddfbuilder.asp

  2. Unzip the contents from the download file to a temporary directory.
  3. Run the file DDFB_4.5_SDK_Windows.exe.
  4. Complete the InstallShield Wizard prompts.
  5. Optionally, delete the DDF Builder files from the temporary directory.

    6. Note  No configuration of DDF Builder 4.5 is required.

Using DDF Builder

See the DDF Builder User’s Guide for a discussion of the features included with this release.

DDF Builder 4.5 includes expanded user documentation, that now includes tutorials for using DDF Builder.

New Features and Enhancements

DDF Builder 4.5 delivers a new interface and improved functionality to help you solve the problems you may have with incorrect or missing data dictionary files (DDFs).

Refer to the DDF Builder User’s Guide for a discussion of the new features and enhancements included with this release.

Known Issues

This section documents the known issues for DDF Builder 4.5.

This section provides information regarding the documentation included with DDF Builder 4.5.

Pervasive PSQL and DDF Builder Documentation

DDF Builder and the Pervasive PSQL Control Center (PCC) utility share common components, such as SQL Editor. Because of this, help invoked from certain areas within DDF Builder accesses information in other Pervasive.SQL books, such as in the Pervasive PSQL User's Guide. In order to provide help from both sets of documentation, DDF Builder currently installs both the user documentation for DDF Builder and for Pervasive PSQL.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

The DDF Builder User’s Guide (PDF) is installed and accessible from the Start menu. You must have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in order to view this file.

The Adobe Acrobat Reader is not installed as part of DDF Builder. If you need to install the Acrobat Reader, you may do so from the Adobe web site (http://www.adobe.com/).
