New Updates Drive Productivity and Automation

As we reported in the October issue of Insights Integration, hot-pluggable java components, SAP R/3 integration, HL7, and ACORD/MIB standards support are just some of the powerful, new features available in the recent release of 8.8. In addition, 8.8 saw the introduction of the Enterprise Application Adapter framework (EAA) – a pure Java subsystem of Business Integrator Pro and Data Integrator Pro that provides a new level of application connectivity to popular ERP and CRM systems.

Check out the comparison matrix to see all the benefits and features added to 8.8. Take your test drive already by downloading the trial version, click here.

With the introduction of 8.10 in early 2006, Pervasive will provide you with even more connectivity choices to popular CRM systems – both to packaged software and software offered as a service (ASP).

Features coming in 8.10 include:

  • Siebel OnDemand: integrate Siebel OnDemand with other applications
  • Microsoft CRM Connector: integrate with MS CRM 1.x series
  • Improved XML support including validators and name support, Xpath/Xquery features, and Schematron validator
  • New XML Mapper IDE with visual 'spider-map'
  • Salesforce.com connector improvements including XML Batch Logging
  • And much more…

Metamorphosis 4.0: ISV Integration Summit Highlights

Pervasive Software CEO, Dave Sikora, kicked off the 2-day integration summit with his keynote address during the opening gala dinner at Crystal Gardens on Chicago’s Navy Pier. The summit’s presentation topics were varied – ranging from "Trend Analysis of the ISV, ASP, and Systems Integrator Markets" (Gartner) to "Accelerating ERP Implementation Cycles" (Epicor) to three case studies (Intuit, Eloqua, Pivotal).

Gartner analyst Robert Anderson summed it up well: "…a new market is emerging that can deliver cost-effective and easy-to-use integration solutions rather than the older complex and high-priced ones that have traditionally reigned. ISVs, ASPs and system integrators can obtain a competitive advantage by utilizing embedded these solutions in their offerings.”

What our customers are saying about Pervasive and
Metamorphosis 4.0
:

"It is essential for Artemis to integrate with a customer's transactional systems quickly and cost effectively. Partnering with Pervasive has helped us achieve this goal."
Colin Palombo, Vice President, US Consulting, Artemis International Solutions Corporation

"The question is, how are mid-market ISV’s going to address data integration issues? The only scalable way to handle this issue is for us to focus on our core competencies and partner with a best-in-class company like Pervasive that has a broad range of products and expertise to handle a wide spectrum of integration problems."
Tom Williams, Director of Business Development, Pivotal Corporation

"We don't want to spend six months building something that only has 20% the functionality of what we can cost-effectively buy from Pervasive. We want the solution immediately so we can spend our time adding great functionality where our expertise lies, in delivering ERP solutions for the mid market."
Patrick Jin, Director of the Custom Solutions Group, Epicor Software Corporation

Metamorphosis 5.0 will be held in Spring 2006. If you’re interested in receiving more information about this event, contact Alan Grimes, Senior Marketing Specialist with Pervasive Software.

Software Complexity Driving Integration Era

As software vendors continuously add new features and functionality, software grows too complex and costly for customers to maintain and manage. Data integration has become a critical business challenge due to massive amounts of disparate applications throughout organizations and the continued use of legacy applications including diverse formats and structures. According to Gartner, 50 percent of the implementation cost of packaged application software is spent on integration alone.

“What customers really want,” Anderson points out, “is a single, simple and cost-effective integration platform for the immediate and continuous capture, transformation, and delivery of data from one database to another – regardless of the database type, physical location or hardware platform.”

In his Metamorphosis 4.0 summit presentation, Anderson noted the emergence of a market delivering more cost-effective and easy-to-use integration solutions. “ISVs, ASPs and system integrators can obtain a competitive advantage by embedding these solutions in their offerings,“ Anderson said.

Firm Grows by Using Pervasive's Integration Technology

Since that time, according to Nick Church, CPA IT Manager, “Data Integrator processes millions of records, with over 1 million renewals processed this year alone. I would say that 30-50 percent of amendments are now handled via the EDT system, so Pervasive as an environment is handling a large number of our renewals – it’s a pretty key part of the business.”

Church added, “We have been able to take on large corporate clients and agents much more quickly, which in turn enables us to effectively grow the business. CPA processes quite inordinate amounts of data and the output is much cleaner.”
